Joyful Prithika
3 years old Prithika is a student of pre-KG. She is the only daughter of Deepa. She is one of the most joyful kid in the pre-Kindergarten section.
Deepa lives in Pudupattinam fishermen colony along with her mother. Deepa recalls that “Three years ago she was separated from her husband barely after a month of her marriage due to property dispute”. Despite the fact that she was carrying Prithika at that time, she had to come back to her mother’s house and start her life from the scratch. Deepa went through difficult time as she was not educated she could not get job. Today Deepa works as a gardener in the near by township and supports the family. She understands the value of education. She says she wants to

Children’s day celebrations
14th November – Birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru is celebrated as children’s day in India. Mr. Venkat reddy- Coordinator of Childline, Mrs. Supriya- Senior officer of MAPS, Mrs. Christeen Godden- Yoga therapist and volunteer for school were present on the occasion.
The program started with prayer by 1st standard children followed by welcome dance by 4th children. Mrs. Supriya spoke to the children and said that children should dream big, especially girls should continue their studies. Mr. Vekat Reddy inspired the students to bring out the hidden talents. Mrs. Christeen Godden also greeted and encouraged children.
EXPLORE Tour Team visit
Explore team visited our school on 28th Saturday, kindergarten kids welcome the guests and 4th standerd children performed special dance for the guest. They visited all the class rooms and interacted with staff and children. The children gave them specially hand made cards for the guests.
IFAD – Disaster management program for the Coastal Communities
The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), a specialized agency of the United Nation along with tamilnadu government organised a special disaster management program for the school teachers and children. Seven teachers from our school attended IFAD’s two days training program for the teachers in coastal area in Sadras Government Higher secondary school. They were trained to respond to disaster and they were taught about the importance of coastal and fisheries resources and their sound management. Resource persons from forest department, fire-safety department, health department, fisheries department were present on the occasion and gave guidelines to teachers to tackle disaster in and around the school.
On 20th, 300 children along with Government school Uyyalikuppam together watched series of disaster awareness, preparedness CD’s in the HOPE FOUNDATION SCHOOL’S premises.
